David first met Open Roads while he was attending the Intensive Learning Center in October of 2015. He participated in our Earn-a-Bike program and earned himself a BMX bike. (Pictured on the right)
The last day of his program he rode his new bike down to Open Roads to sign up for more. He applied, interviewed, and was accepted to join our Youth Advisory Board. In February he interviewed and was accepted to be our spring bike shop Apprentice. That same month he got off probation as well.
This summer he has spent time training to be an Instructor with us. He has helped youth learn some social skills, walked them through fixing and cleaning their bikes, and so much more. We are proud of where he is going and excited for all of the young leaders he is encouraging along the way!
