Youth Advisory Board
The Open Roads Youth Advisory Board empowers youth ages 14-17 to use their voices to create positive changes in the Kalamazoo community. Our board advises Open Roads staff about program curriculum, events, and fundraising. They also plan and implement special projects as they see fit. Their meetings and activities focused on a lot of self-exploration, leadership and life skill development, peer-mentoring, and team building! These youth represent who we work with in the community and they directly impact how we deliver our curriculum and present ourselves as an organization.
At Open Roads we believe young people are to be seen, heard, and valued by their community. We believe in the abilities of youth to take responsibility and lead if they’re given the opportunity, and we believe their contribution makes us a stronger organization!
