1 A. Youth under the age of 18 can earn bikes at no cost by coming to our shop during open hours, and asking to do a 'scholarship' bike. Our capacity for these earning opportunities is limited; we are currently asking folks to sign up for Scholarship bike opportunities. We encourage scholarship applicants to email [email protected] to inquire about this opportunity. All participants must wear closed-toed shoes to be allowed in the shop space. 2 A. YES! Open Roads accepts bike donations on Thursday and Fridays, during open shop hours. 3 A. Appointments are not necessary for most fixes. Bring your bike down during open shop hours for a diagnosis and help with repair. 4 A. Earn-a-Bike programs are currently being run in coordination with CIS and Kalamazoo Public Schools. Ask your school counselor to find out if our program is coming to your school! We occasionally offer Earn-a-Bike sessions at our shop, although availability is limited. Learn more on our "Earn-a-Bike" Page. 5 A. Open Roads accepts apprentice applications twice annually, with spring and fall deadlines. The Fall deadline for apprentice applications is August 31, and the Spring deadline is January 31. |
